Had sewer water backup in toilet and tub. Received callback as promised and arrived early. The tech determined we needed the main line to be cleared. He quickly located the opening and had us cleared in minutes. Very happy with the service. I was not prepared for the fee but it was an emergency.

Plumber, Phil, came out on short notice on a Saturday night and fixed our issue quickly, professionally and courteously. I contacted a different, well known plumbing company right before Mr. Rooter. The receptionist was rude and they didn’t call me back to say they couldn’t make it until after Phil left! The Mr. Rooter receptionist was very nice and they called me back quickly. I’m glad they did.

I was very happy that I went with Mr. Rooter’s. The service was very quick and up front. Jessie James was very helpful answering my questions and replacing my hot water heater. He was pleasurable to do business with. If another problem arises in my home, I will be using this company again.

A thorough, professional, pleasant experience. I had a back-up in the 50 year-old pipes of my new home. I called Mr. Rooter to have them locate the blockage, snake the line, and then use their video snake to get a visual of the integrity of the pipes. I’m glad that I called and will use them again for future needs.

You get what you pay for. Edwin Robles of Central NJ educated me as a 1st time homebuyer on why and what he was repairing, prevention, PROMPT,(on a sunday at that!) clean, knowledgeable, super professional but DOWN TO EARTH and at a REASONABLE PRICE! Sewer pipes unclogged and main water line fixed. I was no longer crying once job was thoroughly executed. After all $#@* $tinks but somebody has to do it and I HIGHLY recommend him and this company for a job well done. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Absolutely lovely office staff! I always knew when the repair person was coming. Lorenzo our repair guy was awesome, I really don't think there is anything he can't do. He looks young, but don't let that fool you! So happy all the repairs are behind us. We really just did a one-stop shopping and decided to have everything we've put off fixed because it was such a tremendous experience!

Tips for Removing Rust and Mineral Deposit Stains

Avoid Harsh Chemical Cleaners

There are plenty of chemical cleaners that are marketed for their “quick results” and “easy use.” However, harsh chemical cleaners can damage your plumbing pipes over time and are harmful or even fatal if accidentally consumed. We recommend natural methods instead.

Environmentally Friendly Products

If you enjoy ease-of-use, then consider some environmentally friendly products such as Shaw’s pads or pumice sticks. These simple and effective options are chemical-free and usually safe for all septic systems. They often come with short handles to make the job less messy. Simply wet the pad or bar and rub them on the stain. When finished scrubbing, simply rinse off the surface or flush the toilet to enjoy your clean surface.

Vinegar or Lemon Juice

Naturally acidic solutions such as vinegar and lemon juice are awesome in eliminating a number of stains, including rust and mineral deposit stains. Pour or spray some full-strength white vinegar or lemon juice directly on the stained area and keep the area wet until the stain starts to dissolve. After about an hour or two, you can wipe away and go on with your day!

Baking Soda and Water

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, mixed with some warm water creates an amazing cleaning paste that you can rub over extremely tough stains. Let the paste soak in for about ten full minutes before wiping away with a soft sponge or cloth.

Consider a Water Filtration System

If you have hard water, then why not “soften” it? Hard water is that with a high mineral composition. Water filtration systems such as water softeners use a variety of mechanisms to remove excess minerals from the water directly. They can be installed at the water supply’s point of entry, and they can also be installed at specific points in your plumbing system such as faucets and under sinks.

Because water softeners discharge brine in large amounts, it can be problematic for properties with a septic system installation. Be sure to tell your plumber about your septic system installation if you have one so that they can adjust the filtration system accordingly.

Call Mr. Rooter Plumbing

If you would like to consider a water softener installation or if you need a repair, then call Mr. Rooter Plumbing to speak with a live representative. We can schedule a flexible appointment or arrange an emergency dispatch today.
