It may seem like all types of plumbing fall under one big category, but that’s not the case. In this article, we will outline the main differences between residential plumbing and industrial plumbing.
The sheer size of an industrial plumbing system is massive compared to that of a residential plumbing system. This is because industrial plumbing systems are laid out in large buildings and cater to more users. Industrial setups have more toilets, sinks, urinals, outlets, and pipes. As a result of more usage of industrial plumbing systems, higher-grade fixtures with longer durability should be used.
It was a late Saturday night. We had a super stubborn clog in some old galvanized pipes. Mr. Rooter send out Phil. Phil was great! He found the problem pretty quick. With determination and professionalism he final got it cleared out. I would recommend Mr. Rooter and Phil to anyone! He even cleaned up. We are so happy we choose Mr. Rooter!
We had a plumbing emergency and found Mr. Rooter while frantically searching for a 24-hour plumber. We feel like we hit a gold mine. Not only did we get a timely response. Everyone at Mr. Rooter was friendly, professional, competent and went above and beyond. Our plumber, Phil, was extremely helpful and gave us tips we could use moving firwars. Not to mention, the cost was extremely reasonable.
Had sewer water backup in toilet and tub. Received callback as promised and arrived early. The tech determined we needed the main line to be cleared. He quickly located the opening and had us cleared in minutes. Very happy with the service. I was not prepared for the fee but it was an emergency.
Plumber, Phil, came out on short notice on a Saturday night and fixed our issue quickly, professionally and courteously. I contacted a different, well known plumbing company right before Mr. Rooter. The receptionist was rude and they didn’t call me back to say they couldn’t make it until after Phil left! The Mr. Rooter receptionist was very nice and they called me back quickly. I’m glad they did.
I just wanted to say James did a great job at my house. Excellent service, professional and very nice. Thank you so much for helping me with my plumbing problem. Did wonderful job.
I was very happy that I went with Mr. Rooter’s. The service was very quick and up front. Jessie James was very helpful answering my questions and replacing my hot water heater. He was pleasurable to do business with. If another problem arises in my home, I will be using this company again.
A thorough, professional, pleasant experience. I had a back-up in the 50 year-old pipes of my new home. I called Mr. Rooter to have them locate the blockage, snake the line, and then use their video snake to get a visual of the integrity of the pipes. I’m glad that I called and will use them again for future needs.
You get what you pay for. Edwin Robles of Central NJ educated me as a 1st time homebuyer on why and what he was repairing, prevention, PROMPT,(on a sunday at that!) clean, knowledgeable, super professional but DOWN TO EARTH and at a REASONABLE PRICE! Sewer pipes unclogged and main water line fixed. I was no longer crying once job was thoroughly executed. After all $#@* $tinks but somebody has to do it and I HIGHLY recommend him and this company for a job well done. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
Absolutely lovely office staff! I always knew when the repair person was coming. Lorenzo our repair guy was awesome, I really don't think there is anything he can't do. He looks young, but don't let that fool you! So happy all the repairs are behind us. We really just did a one-stop shopping and decided to have everything we've put off fixed because it was such a tremendous experience!
A residential plumbing system has a simple layout because the average American home is roughly 2,500 square feet. In a home with a few sinks and toilets, it’s going to be fairly easy to map out the plumbing system. This makes it easier for a plumber to make plumbing repairs and replacements. On the other hand, industrial plumbing systems are a lot more complex because plumbing fixtures are spread out over multiple floors. There are miles of pipes, dozens of toilets on every floor, loads of sinks, and many other plumbing fixtures. Plumbers who specialize in industrial plumbing have a deeper understanding of this complexity and have the right tools and skillset to handle the plumbing issues that may arise in industrial setups.
Both residential and industrial properties are subject to certain plumbing code requirements, but industrial buildings have special code requirements that gove the materials, sizes, and installation of plumbing.
In industrial setups, the daily usage of plumbing systems is greater compared to that of residential homes. Industrial plumbing systems may serve hundreds of people every day, so they take more use and abuse than residential plumbing systems, which cater to a handful of people. Even though industrial plumbing systems use higher-grade and more durable fixtures, they require more frequent maintenance to keep them in good working order.
The potential for damage in an industrial plumbing system greatly increases because of its complex architecture and the higher number of people using the systems. Residential plumbing systems tend to have a simple layout, while industrial facilities have miles of interconnected piping spread out over dozens of floors. If you have a leak or a burst pipe in a residential home, there’s a limited amount of damage that can be done. By contrast, pipes in industrial buildings are larger and the water pressure is higher, so a burst pipe in an industrial facility with multiple floors can drench several floors and cause expensive water damage. Also, plumbing leaks in industrial facilities are harder to detect.
If you are looking for skilled and experienced plumbers to help you with your residential or industrial plumbing needs, call Mr. Rooter Plumbing today. Our plumbers have the knowledge, skills, and tools to handle all of your residential and industrial plumbing service needs.
